Production: High quality wine of very limited production. Made from very old Carignan grapes, centenarian vines in Bellmunt producing low yield planted on very steep slopes traditional "Coster" vineyard facing south with soils dominated by the characteristic "Llicorella" or slate. Fermented in 300 liter French oak barriques and ageing in 500 liter old oak barriques for14 months.
The Bodega Costers del Priorat is located in the municipal district of Bellmunt de Priorat in the highly acclaimed wine region known as Priorat. The winery comprises of 20 ha. of vineyards, mostly planted with old Grenache and Carignan vines of between 40 and 100 years old, it has also newer planted vineyards of Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards can be found on small steeped terraces, they produce very low yields and the work must be done entirely by hand.
Tasting Notes: Black-coloured, concentrated and rich with an intense nose of liquorice spice complemented by blackberry and raspberry fruit aromas. Perfect balance of acidity and dryness with mouthful of ripe fruits.
Notes: It is recommended to let the wine breathe or decanting before serving. Good aging potential.
