Vinification: Solanera, a special limited production, is a custom cuvee for Eric Solomon Selections. Made from the oldest of the indigenous Monastrell variety, along with old Grenache vines and younger low yielding Cabernet Sauvignon vines located at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level. It has spent 10 months in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels. Bottled without filtering.
The Family Castaño is today a highly respected wine producer in Yecla, Murcia, South Eastern Spain, founded in 1950 although it did not started elaborating bottled-wine until the 80’s, now produced a wide range of good quality wines with competitive prices mostly from the local variety Monastrell from their own nearly 450 hectares of vineyards in four different estates spread throughout the D.O.
