Production: A blend of mostly Carignan and in smaller proportion Grenache grapes sourced from very old vines growing in the upper part of "La Tena". Aged during 16 months in mostly new French oak barrels with small percentage of 2º year. The wines are bottled after a light filtration.125 bottles made.
Clos Dominic is a small family winery that elaborates with all their passion and perfectionist a small quantities of lovely well-made hand crafted wines, a 100% family–team work effort since they established in 1998, caring to produce always the best possible wine while remaining faithful to the terroir and their ancestors customs, their quality is their success together with the authentic personality of the great priorat wines. They practise sustainable and minimalist viticulture, totally respecting the values of the fruit and the traditional process of the wine making process. They count with their best assets which is “La Tena”, 7 ha. of vineyard age ranging from 64 –100 years and one of the best parcels in the Priorat, located in the municipal district of Porrera at an altitude of 430 meters.
Tasting notes: Very intense and forward with ripe black fruit and spicy scented nose. Full-bodied with plenty of jamm black fruit on the palate and wonderful hints of sweet spices, toasted and mineral flavours, good balance between fruit and wood, silky textured with a round and warming finish.
Notes: It is recommended to decant it or let it breathe in the glass for a time to achieve its maximum potential. It can be enjoyed through 2032.
