Production: Small family-run winery located in the village of Porrera, D.O.Q. Priorat. The family Castellví-Figuerola renovated in 1999 the old family town house to accommodate the winery and start to make their own wines. They personally carry-out the total process of the operation. They make wines from grapes sourced exclusively from their own estates; “Mas d’en Caçador” and “Mas d’en Ferran”, which have been in the hands of the family over several generations dedicated to growing grapes sold to other wineries.

Roquers de Gartnaxa is a very limited crafted wine, made exclusively from centenarian Garnacha vines coming from their “Mas d’en Caçador” vineyard in Porrera. Aged between 16-18 months in 400-liter second year French oak barriques. Only 516 bottles produced for the 2017 vintage.

 

Tasting Notes:  Very seductive, well-structure, complex wine with rich red fruit, mineral notes, brandied cherries and licorice. Powerful yet finessed.

Notes: Delicious now and will continue to evolve in the bottle for about 10 years+.
