Production: The cultivation of the vineyards is organic, only using organic fertilizers and natural products. The harvest is done manually during the first 2 weeks in September of 2009, followed by a careful sorting of the grapes in the vineyard.  The wine aged for 12 months in French Allier oak barriques of 300ltr.

Celler Bàrbara Forés is a family owned winery that dates back to the 19th century. It takes the name from its original founder and winemaking, a pioneer of the 19th century, Bàrbara Forés (1825-1905), who together with her son Rafael Ferrer, built the Bodega and equipped it for bottling wine, which was something rare in that century. Now the winery is in the hands of their descendant Carmen Ferrer and her husband Manuel Sanmartin, who took the winery over in 1994, restoring it and making it work again. Actually, they have 45 ha. of which 22 ha. are planted with vines. 

Tasting Notes: Good mineral, cherry, and blueberry nose with sweet spicy notes. Medium to full bodied. Rich, creamy texture, intense ripe fruit and cedar notes with good weight and balance.

Note:  Best enjoyed over the next  3 - 4 years.
