Production: The small production consists of pure Carignan sourced from low-yielding over 60 year-old-vines from a single plot, planted on sloped high altitude hillsides made up of licorella soil and North facing, located in the municipal district of the village of Torroja, within the appellation of Priorat. The vinification starts mainly with the hand picking of the fruits, then the grapes are carefully hand sorted, eliminating any over-ripe or undesired grapes. Full clusters fermented in tank with natural yeasts. The wine ages in a combination of 500 liter French oak barriques and a 2500 liter oak “foudre” (oval cask) for about 24 months to be bottled under gravity without finning nor filtration. Production of 4664 bottles.
All the wines at Terroir Al Límit are elaborated practicing sustainable viticulture, with a great respect for the nature and its surroundings. The wines are organically farmed following ecological principles. Respect of the environment makes itself throughout the winemaking process, from the grape harvest down to the bottling. The grapes are hand harvested and hand sorted both in the vineyards and the Cellar. Since its beginning in 2004, Terroir Al Limit has reached a highly respected status not only in the region but also worldwide, producing wines of highest purity and maximum expression of terroir.
Tasting notes: Aromas of dark and ripe fruit with a black fruit graphitic edge. Medium-bodied wine, elegant, creamy, ripe flavors, mineral and nicely balanced.
