A Cabernet Franc and Parellada blend made in a natural style, the grapes come from the “Coll del Sabater” vineyard, made up of clay and calcareous soil and located at an altitude of 450 metres above sea level.

The wine is organically farmed using biodynamic principles.

Production:

Aged with its lees for 7 months in clay amphora, followed by another 6 months resting in bottle before being released. No sulphur is added, and the wines are bottled without fining or filtration. SO2 <10mg/l.                

Tasting Notes:

Quite fruity and fresh, with a great burst of red fruit, blackberry, cherry fruit, and plums, earthy tones, notes of cassis, and a hint of menthol.

Note: Properly cellared, it has a long life span. It is recommended to decant or open at least two hours before serving.

BODEGA ESCODA-SANAHUJA

Joan Ramon Escoda and Carmen Sanahuja, farmers, wine growers, and wine makers, started in 1997 using organic farming methods, and as of 2003, they are following the biodynamic methods of agriculture on their land. They are members of the Natural Wine Producers Association as well as the Mediterranean Biodynamic Work Group.
They use indigenous wine yeast for grape fermentation, and they do not filter, clarify, or stabilise their wines in any way to fully respect the values of the fruit and of nature. S
ince the 2007 harvest, they have also been making their wines with no added sulphur.
