Production: Suerte del Marqués is a canarian Celler, based in the green valley of La Orotava, a well-known beautiful vineyard area in the northern side of the island Tenerife, on the foothills of the imposing volcano, Mount Teide. Here Jonatan Garcia Lima and his family are producing their own wines since 2006, although the family has been involved in winegrowing and selling their own grapes to other wineries for many years beforehand.

Their Estate comprises of 11 hectares of vineyards which extends from the lower slopes of El Teide up to 800 meters above sea level, growing on a diversity of volcanic-sandy soils and different orientations. Here it can be found ancient vineyards, with many of the plots being more than a 100 years old, centenary ungrafted vines of Black Listan, the main red variety and the White Listan, the main white grape variety, also known as Palomino. Beside their own vineyards they work another 15 hectares with winegrowers of the area.

The 7 Fuentes, vino de villa (village wines):  is sourced from hundred-year-old and young ungrafted vines from 35 different plots from different vine-growers and from their own plots. Harvested manually. Each plot is vinified separately and assembled before bottling. Fermented in small concrete and stainless-steel tanks with manual pigage and working with indigenous yeasts. The aging takes place in concrete tanks, 60%, for 8 months and the rest in French oak barrels (Allier).

Tasting Notes:  Good complexity and depth, fresh fruit, cherry and cassis, pepper and mineral notes. Excellent freshness and soft texture.

Notes:  To be enjoyed over the next 4 – 5 years.
