Mon Iaio Sisco is the second label of the Winery created 3 years ago by Josep Vicens the 5th generation as a homage to the Grandfather “Sisco” Francisco Vicens, one of the pioneers in the elaboration of the wines in the family, for his life dedication and commitment to the world of wine.
Small Family run operation whose origins date back to the early days of the XIX century, the Vincen’s family, local winegrowers dedicated to selling wine in bulk, have passed on the operation to the actual generation who committed to innovation, introduced new techniques, pioneers in the introduction of the Syrah variety in the area and elaborating good quality wines. Their brand name “Vinyes del Grau” comes from the family’s oldest plantation called “El Grau” where they grow mainly Syrah, used both in their young and aged wine. Their vineyards, extending over 17 hectares are situated in the surroundings of Gandesa (Terra Alta); they are planted on diverse soils, although the main type is the calcareous very low in organic matter.
