Elaborado exclusivamente  con uvas de la variedad Monastrell procedentes de viñedos viejos con una edad media de 40 años y de bajo rendimiento.

Envejecimiento durante 12 meses en barricas de roble francés.

Notas de cata:  Se combina la elegancia de los aromas de las frutas rojas maduras con las notas torrefactas y ahumadas. Goloso, maduro y estructurado con buena potencia frutal, notas de la barrica bien integradas y unos taninos maduros y suaves.

Notas:  Para beber ahora y durante los próximos 6 - 8 años. Combinando perfectamente con arroces, guisos de carne, setas, pescados y mariscos en salsa,  carnes de caza, blancas y rojas a la plancha, salsa o parrilla, quesos curados y azules.

THE WINERY

Bodegas Juan Gil is a family-owned winery that dates back to 1916. It was the third generation who managed to consolidate the winery with a reliable, efficient, and good-quality wine image that the present generation is working hard to preserve and further develop.

The wineyards are located northwest of Jumilla and consist of 350 hectares. Of these, 120 hectares surround the winery, and the rest are scattered in smaller parcels, always within the area called “Termino de Arriba”, a perfect zone for wine growing. This region is located at an altitude of 700–850 metres above sea level and has sandy, chalky, rocky soil on the surface and is very poor in nutrients. Monastrell is the main variety grown, which is native to Jumilla and perfectly adapted to the climatic conditions in this area, for which is used in all the wines produced in the winery.
