Production:  Crossos is the conventional wine of the winery, unlike their other wines, Crossos is not sourced from the organic farmed estate’s vines, it is produced and bottled at the winery from grapes sourced from the whole region, selected among the best viticultures of Priorat. The grapes are manually selected. Fermentation and maceration of each variety takes place separately in stainless steel tanks. After the blend the wine ages during 6 months in French Oak Barrels (80%) and American Oak Barrels (20%). Production of 20000 Bottles.

The winery is called Domini de la Cartoixa (The Priory’s domain), as these lands belonged once to the Carthusian monks of Scala Dei Priory. The winery and its 11 ha. vineyards are located in the village of El Molar within the prestigious DOC Priorat and is owned by the family Perez-Dalmau. The wines from the winery: Clos Galena, Galena and Formiga are organically farmed and produced wines, duly certified by the authority CCPAE the Catalan Council of organic production, the public watchdog responsible to the ministry of Agriculture of the Catalan Government.  www.closgalena.com

Tasting Notes: Light, clean scented nose of dark and red fruits combined with balsamic notes, thyme, orange peel and spices. Meaty and dark fruit flavours, plum and cherry, very pleasant with very good fruit expression.
