Production: This third wine from LaFou Celler expresses the depth, the identity and the authenticity of the territory Terra Alta. It has been fermented at 26ºC and submitted to three daily pigeages. Vinification of the grapes from each plot separately in 3000 to 5000 kg. tanks. Aged during 6 months in used of different years oak barrels, 70% French, 20% Central European and 10% American.
Lafou Celler is the personal project that Ramon Roqueta started in 2007 setting his sight in Terra Alta, one of the most authentic wine-growing areas with a long history and a great potential. He is a young member of the well known Roqueta’s Family in Pla de Bages ( Abadal Celler), whom have been wine growers for a number of generations and from whom he has inherited not only all the enthusiasm, commitment and passion for the wine but also all the respect for the earth and its fruits, which he wants now to transmit into his own personal project. Lafou Celler is located in the village of Batea, right in the village’s main square. The vineyard is at 300-500 metres above sea level, it consist of 60 ha. north of the municipal district of Batea.
Tasting Notes: Good complexity of aromas, displaying a wonderful balance of maturity, volume and freshness, scents of blackberry, dried flowers and balsamic notes. Remarkable freshness on the palate complemented with fresh fruits, lovely hints of spice and liquorice interplaying in harmony, Finishing nicely with soft tannins.
