Bodegas Palacios Remondo is a family owned winery established in 1948 by Jose Palacios Remondo, 4th generation of a family with a long involvement with wines for more than 150 years. This was also the childhood home of Alvaro Palacios, the acclaimed Spanish winemaker, he learnt his craft here and actually, after his father death in 2000, is now officially winemaker too in the family’s home estate in Rioja. The Winery is located within the Oriental Rioja in the municipal district of Alfaro. The Estate owns 100 ha. of vines which are located in a large and steep hill, south-east facing at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level and made up of clay/lime soils with very poor organic matter. The varieties planted are: Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano, with just 8 ha. planted with the white grape variety Viura.
Tasting Notes: Aromatic dark cherry and blueberry scented nose combined with floral notes. On the palate lovely and round fruit, full with freshness and lenght on the finish.
Notes: This is a wine to be enjoyed over the next 2 -3 years.
