Production: . Fermentation slow and controlled at around 26º – 28º . As soon as the alcohol contents reaches 15% Vol. the fermentation is stopped with the help of a cooling process. Then the wine will age for almost 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by another year in bottle before being released.
The Xavier Clua Wine Cellar is situated in the Village of Vilalba dels Arcs, one of the twelve communes of the Denomination of Origin of Terra Alta. A long established celler, for four generations, the name of Clua has been associated with the production of wines and today is the latest generation, led by Xavier Clua who runs the viticulture and the winemaking side of the business. The family owned vineyards are located around the village of Vilalba dels Arcs, in the heart of the Ebre region in southern Tarragona. The soil is made up of calcareous clays, with low levels of organic material, but rich in elements that favour good drainage and the clime has influences both Mediterranean and continental.
Tasting Notes: Good aromas of ripe, sweet, spicy and creamy notes. Very smooth and delightfully fruity, creamy blackberries, Expressive, good balance of sweetness, acidity and ripe fruit. Perfect with chocolate desserts!.
