Serving Temperature: It is recommended serving at 16ºC, decant it to let it breathe for about 10 minutes when drinking the wine while is still young, once it has about 4 – 7 years best to be decanted for 20 – 30 minutes.
Production: From 4 different plots totalling 5.8 ha of own vineyards come the grapes that will be used in the unusual blend which will result in this great white wine, Nelin. Hand harvested from sloped terraces composed of slate soils known locally as llicorella and situated at 350 -500 meters above sea levels. The fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of between 16 -18ºC. in oak barrels and wooden vats during 20 – 30 days to follow a 12 months ageing time in 1200 L. oak barrels, followed by another 6 months in stainless steel vats. Bottled in June 2019 a total of approximately 7500 bottles.
With a great capacity for ageing can be drank now or over the nest 5 – 6 years.
Clos Mogador is located in Gratallops, in the heart of the Priorat hills. The winery was founded in 1989 by René Barbier. The terraced Clos Mogador vineyards form a gigantic natural amphitheatre above the Siurana River, with an average altitude of 450 meters above sea level. His star wine is Clos Mogador, made with Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Carignan. The Grenache vines are more than 80 years old. www.closmogador.com
Tasting Notes: The rich and intense nose is packed with white fruits, notes of spring flowers and marked mineral tones. Soft palate, silky textured, displays a concentrated and complex character with an excellent depth and length and well integrated oak characters.
