Production: A single varietal Grenache wine, sourced from a small owned plot of just 1 ha in Cadalso de los Vidrios (Madrid). Vines planted in 1959 on granitic soils at an altitude of 950 meters above sea level and east orientated. The grapes go through a selection process both in the vineyard and the cellar. Yielding of jut 30 hl/ha. Whole cluster fermentation in oak and macerates for 60 days. Aged for 14 months in two oak barrels of 600 litres, followed by a further 6 months bottle-ageing before being released. 2500 bottles produced.
La Reina de los Deseos is one of the three wines born from the collaboration of Uvas Felices project and Comando G. a group of oenologist and wine growers from the Sierra de Gredos area, whom elaborate wines from the Grenache variety. The vineyards are located in Cadalso de los Vidrios within the D.O Madrid, at an altitude of 900 mtr above the sea level and on granitic soils in which it is applied the biodynamic principles.
Tasting Notes: Delicate and subtle on the nose, perfume of flower petals, good fruit intensity, a touch of pepper and dry leaves. Complexity and volume on the palate, with superb freshness and elegance, notes of fresh fruit, reminiscent of nectarines, plums and blackcurrants, flavorfull, gentle and juicy.
Note: With a good structure to age. It can be drunk now or age for another 6 – 7 years.
