The Chartreuse yellow V.E.P. is made by the Carthusian monks following the same processes and the same secret formula as the classic chartreuse, after undergoing through an exceptional prolonged aging.
The Chartreus Monks periodically collect an extremely limited quantity of their Green or Yellow liquor. It is then aged for many years in very old oak barrels, more than a century old, of the famous wineries od the Carthusian distillery in Voiron, and preserved under the supervision of the Fathers Chartreus until they themselves estimate when the full maturity has been reached.
The chartreuse continues to improve, although more slowly, in the bottle; however, it should be kept upright. With the years the chartreuse loses some of its degree and its colour but it gains in softness and finesse.
The bottle, the wax seal of the Chartreuse VEP are exactly in accordance with the presentation used by the Carthusian Fathers until 1840. Presented in a wooden box marked with a branding iron.
The quantity produced each year is strictly limited. Each bottle is numbered.
