This special edition, "Chartreuse 1605", was created by the Carthusian Monks in 2005 to commemorate the 400^th anniversary of the manuscript.

It has been elaborated following the original recipe, as given to the Carthusian monks of Paris, a gift from Marshal Francois Hannibal d'Estrées of an ancient manuscript containing a recipe for the "Elixir of Long Life". A complex formula using over 130 herbs and spices that will give birth to the Green Chartreuse.

Ingredients: Alcohol, sugar, and 130 plants and flowers.

How to drink it: 

To bring out all its flavours, it should be consumed very cold. Traditionally considered an after-dinner drink, but today it is becoming increasingly popular in cocktails.
