Quars by El Mas de L'A La Morera is a single varietal wine of white Grenache from organic-based viticulture in conversion to Biodynamic.

Production: 

The grapes come from soils composed of quartz and clay, harvested before the point of fully ripeness, pressed directly to preserve part of the stems, and naturally fermented with their own yeasts in cement and steel vats. The ageing takes place in Bocois, 500-litre French oak barrels, for 10 months. Bottled unfiltered.

Tasting Notes:

A wine that displays the freshest version of the white grenache, rounded off by the nuances standing out from the oak ageing. It is pure harmony, refined with balanced acidity.

"El Mas de l’A" is undoubtedly clearly focused on the search for a different Priorat. A project based on the different red and white Grenache grapes growing in the enclave of La Morera de Montsant, a valley located between the small towns of Cornudella and Poboleda, this region stands out for its ideal climatic conditions, a perfect balance between north and south, an altitude of 500 metres above sea level, and a rich range of soils.

Opting for sustainable agriculture and viticulture, co-planting as a rule, and stimulating the virtues of the youngest vines. The result is a range of very fine wines with a lower alcohol content and silky tannins. Wines with great potential and small productions.

Mas de L’A is Alfredo Arribas’ latest project within the DOQ Priorat. Since the early starts of this wine-making adventure in 2001 with his initial project of Clos del Portal in Priorat, Alfredo has moved on focused by his passion and concern in the search for new initiatives.

In the neighbouring DO Montsant "Trossos", Alfredo developed a recovery task for old vines. This was followed by the incorporation of a project based on a range of natural wines under the name of "Vins Nus".
