Production: Grimalt Caballero surprises for its character, fresher and lighter than its brother 4 Kilos. Produced from a blend of indigenous grapes, Callet and Fogoneu, although the Callet variety takes a starring role with 90% and only a tiny 10% of Fogoneu. Both are sourced from 2 different small plots, Viña Petita (0.34 ha) and Viña Ermassos (0.6 ha) with vines age ranging from 40 to 50 years old.  Ecological viticulture, vinification is done with a minimun of intervention following a rigorous hand selection process of the grapes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature and for a time not longer than 20 days. The wine ages during 14 months in new French Oak Allier of 600 L.  Small production of just 1000 Bottles.     www.4kilos.com

Tasting Notes: Beautifully-intense aromas of very ripe black fruit, with a distinct spiciness and attratctive floral touches. On the palate we find rich dark fruits with wonderful hints of spice, fine toasted notes with good acidity and ripe tannins, well marked that leads to a long and elegant finish with flavours of spice and liquorice.
