Production:  Sourced from 5 of the 14 parcels organic farmed estate’s vines, manual sorting of each variety. Fermentation and maceration of each variety takes place separately in stainless steel tanks. After the blend the wine ages during 12 months in French Oak Barrels (90%) and American Oak Barrels (10%).

Tasting Notes: This complex, elegant and mature wine shows the full potential of the Priorat Terroir. Warm and generous with complex scents of black spices combined with beautiful ripe fruit aromas and marked by the characteristic mineral and balsamic notes. Round and smooth on the palate with a wonderful balance of complexity and elegance.

THE WINERY

 The winery is called Domini de la Cartoixa (The Priory’s domain), as these lands belonged once to the Carthusian monks of Scala Dei Priory. The winery and its 11 ha. vineyard are located in the village of El Molar within the prestigious DOC Priorat and is owned by the family Perez-Dalmau. The wines from the winery: Clos Galena, Galena and Formiga are organically farmed and produced wines, duly certified by the authority CCPAE the Catalan Council of organic production, the public watchdog responsible to the ministry of Agriculture of the Catalan Government.
