Production: 

Sourced from 5 different organically farmed estate's vines, with manual sorting of each variety. Fermentation and maceration of each variety take place separately in stainless steel tanks.

After the blend, the wine ages for 12 months in French oak barrels (90%) and American oak barrels (10%), followed by 24 months resting in bottle.

Tasting Notes:

Deep nose of ripe dark and red fruit, toasted, spices, and mineral notes. The palate is round and smooth, with a big, warm bouquet, oak nicely integrated, and ripe, smooth tannins.

Notes: This wine will drink well for 10–15 years.

THE WINERY

The winery is called Domini de la Cartoixa (the priory’s domain), as these lands once belonged to the Carthusian monks of Scala Dei Priory. The winery and its 11 ha of vineyard are located in the village of El Molar within the prestigious DOC Priorat and are owned by the Perez-Dalmau family.

The wines from the winery, Clos Galena, Galena, and Formiga, are organically farmed and produced, duly certified by the authority CCPAE, the Catalan Council of Organic Production, the public watchdog responsible to the Catalan Government's Ministry of Agriculture.
