Production: 

Made from a blend of the two local Grenache varieties, Hairy Grenache and black Grenache old vines, sourced from “La Plana del Barranc” and “La Setena,” from their own estate located at an altitude of 410 m above sea level and made up mainly of calcareous and panal soils.

Fermented and aged in the same 5000-liter French oak Foudre for 9 months. 

Tasting Notes: Lovely nose of red fruits and spices; on the palate, very succulent red fruit with a touch of well integrated oak, mature tannins, and good acidity.

Notes: Best enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.

The Xavier Clua Wine Cellar is situated in the village of Vilalba dels Arcs, one of the twelve communes of the Denomination of Origin of Terra Alta. A long established winery, the name Clua has been associated to the production of wines for four generations, and today is the latest generation, led by Xavier Clua, who runs the viticulture and winemaking sides of the business.

The family-owned vineyards are located in southern Tarragona' Ebre region, aorund the village of  Vilalba dels Arcs. The climate is influenced by both the Mediterranean and the continental, and the soil is made up of calcareous clays with low levels of organic material but is rich in elements that favour good drainage.
