Made from a carefully selected 50/50 blend of Garnacha and Cariñena grapes. The grapes come from different fincas located in Bellmunt del Priorat, Torroja del Priorat, and Vilella Baixa.

All of the estates are organically farmed and have in common a similar steeply sloping slate soil that is rich in mica, the black or dark "Llicorella", a type of very laminated and brittle slate that retains heat and helps the bunches ripen, which gives this wine its character and exceptional intensity. Limited production wines.

Production:

The grapes are rigorously selected, first by hand on the sorting table at the winery and afterwards by machine, using the latest state-of-the-art sorting machine.

Whole grapes are vinified separately in cement vats after a long maceration with low extraction. Aged in Slovenian oak foudres and amphorae.

Tasting Notes: Good aromatic intensity with notes of ripe black fruit and spicy and mineral hints. Excellent fruit weight in the mouth, good concentration, structured, silky tannins, nicely balanced acidity, long and persistent.

The Bodega Costers del Priorat is located in the municipal district of Bellmunt de Priorat in the highly acclaimed wine region known as Priorat. The winery comprises 20 ha of vineyards, mostly planted with old Grenache and Carignan vines that are between 40 and 100 years old, and most recently planted vineyards of Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards can be found on small, steep terraces; they produce very low yields, and the work is done entirely by hand.
