Alonso del Yerro Crianza is the most emblematic wine of the winery, made from a selection of Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes sourced from plots of different soils.

Production:

12 months ageing in French oak barrels using 25% new wood.

Tasting Notes:

Attractive nose of ripe red fruits, floral aromas, spices, and liquorice notes. Elegant and seductive, a sumptuous palate of rich fruits, toasted, and liquorice flavours blend in perfectly with the silky and smooth tannins.

Notes: It is recommended to decant the wine. Drink over the next 10–12 years.

Viñedos Alonso del Yerro is a relatively young winery, all started in 2002 when the Alonso del Yerro family installed themselves at Finca Santa Marta, situated in the village of Roa in the province of Burgos and within the DO Ribera del Duero, to work a group of plots strictly chosen and planted with Tempranillo grapes.

Actually, the vineyards consist of 26 hectares that were planted in 1989 on a diversity of soil types, going from the red clay typical of Ribera to the gravel sand. They are located at an altitude of between 800 and 840 metres, growing in trellis, and having yields of 30 hl per hectare.

All the work in the vineyards is done manually; they avoid the use of synthetic products and use their own compost. Their philosophy is based on respect for nature and the expression of the terroir and the environment, all of which is felt throughout the winemaking process, from the grape harvest down to the bottling.
