Winemaking:
The grapes, after destemming and light crushing, get into tanks where they go through the alcoholic fermentation for 17 days. The batches selected are allowed to complete the malolactic fermentation naturally over 75 days.
The wine is aged for four years in used American oak barrels. During this time, the wine is racked eight times using the traditional barrel-to-barrel methods.
Tasting Notes:
Intense, deep cherry-red colour. Classic Rioja nose of tobacco, leather, toffee, cloves, chocolate, mints, and spiced red fruit aromas; blackberry jam, raspberries. The palate is fresh and lively, with soft berry fruit, vanilla, toffee, and spice, with nice silky tannins and a long aftertaste.
Notes: It has good ageing potential and will drink well through 2033+.
