Vinification:

La Borrasona is a fresh and sweet Garnacha wine. Made from organic grapes sourced from a single 40-year-old Garnacha vineyard located on the Caseres hill and is composed of "panal soils", also known as loess.

Hand harversted. The grapes are double selected at the sorting table in the winery, destemmed, and transferred to concrete tanks where they undergo spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeast. The wine is aged for 12 months in Austrian oak foudres. Bottled without fining.

Certified Organic. Suitable for vegans

Tasting Notes: 

Deep ruby colour. Ripe red fruit-scented nose, raspberry and strawberry, lactic notes, and a touch of dried herbs and spices. Medium-bodied, creamy texture, sweet and fresh on the palate, silky tannins, fruit flavours, finishing with a toasty and mineral feeling.

THE WINERY

Herencia Altés is the project of Nuria Altés, daughter and granddaughter of a local wine grower family in Batea, the main village in Terra Alta, with a long tradition in wine production and accounting for 50% of its entire grape production. Her wines come from the family's vineyards, which are scattered throughout the hillside around the village of Batea. They produce excellent value wines.

The winery produces and grows its grapes organically, and all the wines are duly certified by the authority CCPAE, the Catalan Council of Organic Production, the public watchdog responsible to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Catalan Government.
