Gran Reserva Rosé wine from the Classica Grandes Añadas collection by Hacienda López de Haro, which includes the gran reservas made only in the winery's most exceptional vintages.

A highly acclaimed rosé wine from the Rioja region, considered a rarity within the Spanish wine scene due to its extended ageing process, which is quite uncommon for rosé wine. It is a clear example of the ageing potential of rosé wines when made with top-quality grapes and the best of care. Actually, it is regarded among the finest rosés in the world thanks to its exceptional quality and unique style.

Production: 

Made from a blend of Garnacha and Viura grapes from old north-facing vines grown on terraces with clay-ferrous soils in the Alto Najerilla at a high altitude.

Manually harvested. The wine is then left to macerate for between 24 and 18 hours at a low temperature (10ºC). The fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 16ºC for 20 days.

It undergoes a long ageing process of 4 years in Bordeaux barrels of European oak, mostly new barrels with some second-use barrels. Followed by a prolonged ageing process in the bottle.

Tasting notes:

Gran Reserva rose wine very distinctive and refined. The wine is characterised by its intense salmon colour. Concentrated, profound, and fragrant, with floral and fruity notes on the nose, such as grapefruit and orange peel intermingled with spicy notes. The palate is broad and complex, showing a wide range of perfectly balanced tones. Long, elegant finish with a sweet spice hint and a slight saline touch.

La Bodega López de Haro is located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, an emblematic village with a strong winemaking tradition on the banks of the river Ebro in the Rioja Alta. They made elegant, aromatic, classical, and very approachable wines with impeccable care, where tradition combines with innovation.
