Elaborated by Niepoort Vinhos, a small independent family business since 1842 and currently led by Dirk Niepoort, the fifth generation of the Niepoort family.

Production: 

The wine is a blend of various vintages with a 10-year average age from low-yielding vineyards with vines that are, on average, over 60 years old and are located in the Vinha da Pisca/Vale do Pinhão/Ferrão region of the Douro Valley, which is regarded as one of Portugal's most promising wine regions.

Hand-picked, the grapes are trodden in lagares and aged in the cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia in small old oak casks for 10 years.

This is a port wine characterised by its tawny color, complexity of aromas, freshness and persistent bouquet, with aromas of dried apricots and crystallized peel with a nutty character. Full-bodied with lots of sweet fruit and a long, subtle finish.

Notes: Good match with cheeses and chocolate-based desserts, and can also be drunk as an aperitif, served at room temperature or lightly chilled.
