Elaborated by Niepoort Vinhos, a small independent family business since 1842 and is currently led by Dirk Niepoort, the fifth generation of the Niepoort family.  

Production: 

It is produced in one of Portugal's most promising wine regions, the Cima Corgo region of the Douro Valley, which has low yielding vineyards and vines that are over 30 years old on average.

Hand picked, the grapes are trodden in lagares, aged in large wooden vats, and bottled after an average of three years.

This Ruby is fresh, young, and fruity, an expressive port with great character. It is dark red in colour, displaying aromas of dark fruits with a mineral character.

Notes:

Ready to drink now, after a meal, on its own, or with soft cheeses.

It keeps well for several years, although it will not improve with age. It contains no sediment and does not need to be decanted.
