Elaborated by Niepoort Vinhos, a small independent family business since 1842, and is currently led by Dirk Niepoort, the fifth generation of the Niepoort family.  

Production: 

Made from white grape varietals from vines that are over 60 years old on average and originate in the region of the Douro Valley, considered one of Portugal's most promising wine regions.

The white grapes are manually harvested and undergo a lengthy skin maceration, occasionally foot trodden in lagares. The wine is aged for at least three years in small old wood casks after being fortified with grape brandy and spending a year in large old oak casks.

Tasting Notes:

This white port displays a fresh, nutty aroma with a spicy, candied-peel nose. Medium sweet on the palate and light, but with enough backbone to give a good structure.
