Production: Is produced from a blend of Grenache and Syrah grapes sourced from 15 – 30 year old Grenache vines and younger Syrah vines that cling to rugged terrain on the slopes of the famous Moncayo mountain. Fermentation in stainless steel vats of each individual variety separately at controlled temperature of 22 – 26ªC, followed by an ageing in used French oak barrels of 3 months.
The Cooperative of Borja was founded in 1958, in 2001 Borsao obtained its own legal status with the creation of the company Bodegas Borsao S.A. Actually, it comprises of over 2430 ha. of some 620 vine-rowers in the Northwest of the province of Zaragoza, most of them situated between 400 – 700 mt. Above sea level and protected by the Moncayo Mountain Range. Bodegas Borsao is an example of how to produce wines of good quality at low prices.
Tasting notes: Intense nose of mature red fruit, spice and hints of sweet oak. A smooth, full-bodied, flavoursome wine with a long spicy finish.
Notes: Will drink well over the next 2 – 3 years.
