Young red wine sourced from the family's own vineyards, aged between 10 and 30 years old and located at an altitude of 450–500 m above sea level. The fermentation takes place at temperatures between 26º–28º, and it ages for 4 months in stainless steel vats.
Tasting Notes:
Fresh and youthful on the nose. Lovely and round fruit, blueberry and blackcurrant, slightly mineral. Quite concentrated, with rich flavours, structure, fruitiness, and straightforwardness. Very reasonably priced!
Notes: Best enjoyed in youth over the next 1-2 years.
The Xavier Clua Wine Cellar is situated in the village of Vilalba dels Arcs, one of the twelve communes of the Denomination of Origin of Terra Alta. A long-established winery, the name Clua has been associated with the production of wines for four generations, and today is the latest generation, led by Xavier Clua, who runs the viticulture and winemaking sides of the business.
The family-owned vineyards are located in southern Tarragona's Ebre region, around the village of Vilalba dels Arcs. The climate is influenced by both the Mediterranean and the continental, and the soil is made up of calcareous clays with low levels of organic material but is rich in elements that favour good drainage.
