A natural young wine whose grapes come from the “Bassotets” vineyard, made up of clay and calcareous soil and located at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level. The wine is organically farmed using biodynamic principles.
Production: Hand harvested and fermented in stainless steel vats using natural yeasts. Spends 10 months in stainless steel deposits. No sulfites are added, and the wines are bottled without fining or filtration. 7 mg/l SO2 total.
Tasting Notes: A characteristic nose of ripe red fruit and Mediterranean forest. Light and creamy in texture, with earthy fruit flavors, spice, smooth tannins and fresh acidity.
It is recommended to let the wine breathe for a short time.
Joan Ramon Escoda and Carmen Sanahuja, farmers, wine growers, and wine makers, started in 1997 using organic farming methods, and as of 2003, they are following the biodynamic methods of agriculture on their land. They are members of the Natural Wine Producers Association as well as the Mediterranean Biodynamic Work Group.
They use indigenous wine yeast for grape fermentation, and they do not filter, clarify, or stabilise their wines in any way to fully respect the values of the fruit and of nature. Since the 2007 harvest, they have also been making their wines with no added sulphur. 5 mg/l SO2 total.
