Pla dels Ângels is the first rosé wine made by the historic winery in the Priorat, Cellers Scala Dei. Ricard Rofes, the oenologist, has produced a fragrant, elegant, and fresh rosé wine following a very short maceration of approximately 3 hours of grapes selected from vines growing on clay soils at 500 metres above sea level.

The Priory of Scala Dei, founded in 1163, was the first monastery on the peninsula and planted the region’s first grapes; for this reason, the bodega is emblematic of Priorat. The current owners took over in 1973, and Codorniu bought 25% at the end of 2000.

Tasting notes:

Its characteristic pale onion peel colour, fruitiness, finesse, and freshness make it already special. Flavourful, fresh red fruits, strawberry, citrus, and anise notes; and floral touches. Lively and prolonged aftertaste.
