This Lagavulin 8 Years is a limited edition, a Lagavulin with smoky-clean aromas and mighty taste, crafted to commemorate the distillery's 200^th anniversary and in homage to the Lagavulin 8 Year Old from Barnard’s era, the illustrious whisky chronicler, who, in his visit to the distillery in 1886, after sampling it, described it as "exceptionally fine".

The 8-year-old has a soft and clean nose, fragrant tea-scented smoke, and maritime aromas with subtle cereal. The palate is light in texture, reminiscent of the trademark Lagavulin taste, even more marked, sweet, smoky, and warming. The finish is clean, very long, and smoky.

Lagavulin is produced by White Horse Distillers, which is owned by United Distillers & Vintners, which in turn is owned by Diageo Plc. The Distillery of Lagavulin dates from 1816 and is located on Lagavulin Bay in the town of Port Ellen on the Isle of Islay.
