Via Edetana is an organic red wine produced by the Edetària winery in Gandesa, Terra Alta. It is a blend in equal parts with the native varieties of the region, Garnacha Fina, the name given to the red Garnacha in Terra Alta, and Garnacha Peluda (Hairy Garnacha).

The grapes come from different vineyards with an age range of 20 to 40 years, growing on soils of "tapàs", "tapàs blanc" (shallow soils with carbonated fragments), and "arcillas".

Production: 

Hand harvested with a first selection of grapes in the vineyard. Each variety is vinified separately and aged for 12 months in 300 and 500-litre French oak barrels before being blended and bottled.

Tasting Notes: 

Elegant nose of mature sweet red fruits with a touch of liquor and balsamic notes. A smooth, full-bodied, flavoursome wine with good acidity, nicely supported by sweet and balanced tannins. Ending in a lengthy and persistent finish.

Notes: It is recommended to let the wine breathe in the glass or decant before serving. Drink now - 2028

Edetària is located in the village of Gandesa within the denomination of Terra Alta. All its vineyards are located in the valley called “La Plana de Gandesa”. Edetaria only produces wine from its own vineyards. It owns 38 ha, of which 24 ha are planted with vines, with a high percentage of old vines over 50 years old, and the remaining vines are 20 and 25 years old, producing low yields, always below 4500 kg/ha.

The vineyards are planted in five different types of soil, which, together with each particular microclimate, give each vineyard its own unique personality, producing wines of outstanding quality that reflect the terroir and the personality of the winemaker.
