Hito is the winery's youngest red wine, a fresh and fruity single-varietal Tempranillo with an excellent quality-price ratio. An excellent reflection of youth with a wide combination of nuances, modern and elegant.
Production:
Made from 100% Tinto Fino vines (the local name for the Tempranillo grape) from the winery's youngest vineyards in Castrillo de Duero on chalky, clayey, and stony soil.
The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 12 days. Ageing in French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes:
Intense cherry red colour, clean and intense nose, varietal aromas with subtle toasted notes, ripe black fruits, liquorice, floral hints of violets, and mineral. On the palate, it enters pleasantly, sweet and round, with spicy and chocolate notes and a great balance between fruit and oak.
Note: To be drunk over the next 4-5 years.
Bodegas Cepas 21 was founded in 2005 by the Moro family. The project began with 50 ha of vines planted by José Moro in 2000, with clones of the family vineyards' 100-year-old vines, being this part of the centenary legacy of his father and grandfather.
The new winery was inaugurated in 2007, an avant-garde, modern, and functional building equipped with the latest technology and located in Castrillo de Duero in the heart of the Ribera del Duero.
