The winery's first single-varietal wine, made from Trepat grapes, the area's most indigenous variety and the very essence of the Mas Foraster winery. Produced from old vines over 60 years old growing on clay-limestone soils in the Mas de la Sabatera vineyard, situated on the sunniest slopes of the Sierra de Miramar, at an altitude of around 450 metres in the Conca de Barberà region.
Organically farmed and fully certified by the CCPAE, the Catalan Council for Organic Production, the public watchdog responsible to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Catalan Government.
Production:
The grapes are selected and vinified separately by vineyards. Spontaneously fermented at a controlled temperature maximum of 22ºC, with a gentle maceration lasting around 35 days.
The wine has spent 6 months in used French oak barrels, with 20% aged in European oak foudres.
Tasting Notes:
A very varietal, elegant and fresh wine. The nose opens with impressive aromatic intensity, combining wild berries and white pepper spice against a background with dry nuts, balsamic and mineral notes. On the palate the red fruit notes stand out along with subtle spicy nuances supported by delicate tannins and a fresh, lingering finish.
