Production:

Sourced from 15-60-year-old vines located at an altitude of 200-550 m above sea level.

Aged for 12 months in new and 1-year-old French oak barriques, followed by another 3 months in vats before bottling.

Tasting Notes:

Full-bodied with good complex aromas of ripe cherry fruit, plums, and mineral notes and a flavoursome, elegant palate with jammy fruit supported by spicy flavours and fine toast from the oak. Soft texture and fine tannins on a long finish.

The Winery

Founded in 1933 by five families from the village of Capçanes, who together established a cooperative that would handle large quantities of grapes economically and efficiently. The cooperative bears the name of the village where it is located: Capçanes, a village hidden away in the Priorat hills inland from Tarragona with a long wine-growing history.
In the 1990s, the company was reinvented as an independent company with its original members as shareholders; today, they have around 130 members and produce a wide selection of high-quality wines, including the well-known Peraj Ha’abib, a kosher wine, under the Montsant appellation.
