Tasting Notes:

Clos Monlleó Gran Reserva comes from very old vines. It is a very expressive wine with a Mediterranean character, mature aromas, spicy red fruit, herbaceous notes such as rosemary, lavender and liquorice with mineral and spicy notes. Round and classy wine has excellent concentration, a jammy palate with peppery notes, a fleshy, full-bodied character with soft tannins and a long spicy finish.

Excellent for drinking now.

THE WINERY SANGENIS I VAQUÉ

Since 1978, Pere Sangenís and Conxita Vaqué have been making wines in Porrera, combining tradition with new techniques. Today, their two daughters, María and Núria Sangenís, have also joined the team and, along with Pere, share the responsibility of producing great wines.

The vineyards are located in the district of Porrera within the Priorat Qualified Designation of Origin, on the family-owned lands dating back to before 1700, on terraced hillsides formed by the famous “llicorella” (slate schist land). The combination of poor land and a dry climate (550 mm) results in minimal production and thus maximum quality.
