"Deunido" is a natural young red wine of small production, with 2500 bottles produced in his first vintage.
The wine has gone through a short maceration in stainless steel vats and has been aged for 5 months in stainless steel deposit. Bottled unfiltered and without added sulphites.
Tasting Notes:
Clean and intense, with excellent dark fruit, spice, slight earthy notes, and juiciness. Warm and inviting bouquet, pleasant and smooth entry, succulent fruit extract with good depth.
THE PROJECT
"Deunido" is the result of Christian Barbier's personal project, starting in 2019 in a vineyard, Finca “La Coma”, located in the middle of the forest in the village of La Figuera (DO Montsant), with 40-year-old vines of black Grenache growing on white clay soils at 600 metres in altitude. Here in this idyllic environment is where this impressive first vintage by Christian is born.
Christian Barbier Meyer has had the best ever formation in the wine-making business. Having grown up in one of the most well-known families of winemakers from the Priorat area, he is the youngest of the Barbier family; his father is considered almost a Priorat legend; René Barbier from Clos Mogador and his brothers are all producing beautiful wines in the region, each reflecting their own personalities in the wines.
For Christian, making wine has come naturally. Christian has grown up among nature, on a llicorella-based terroir inhabited by a rich diversity of plants and animal life. From here comes his profound passion and respect for the environment, which is clearly evident in his winemaking and his commitment to sustainable and balanced agriculture.
