Caminito is a single varietal rose wine made from black Grenache. A fresh, juicy, and round Grenache from the the Empordà region with good aging potential and organically produced by the Terra Remota winery.
Terra Remota is a relatively young winery. Built in 2006, the winery is located in the Alt Empordà region, in a natural beauty spot, yet fairly isolated and remote, as its name suggests. The building blends into the environment, where design and functionality go hand in hand. The state consists of 54 hectares located in the Sierra de La Albera, and their 12 plots of vineyards have been planted with low yielding clones for each variety. Since 2012, they have been fully ecologically certified, with the entire viticulture and winemaking processes carried out under the organic agriculture precept.
They produce a range of high-quality wines that are influenced by the characteristics of the terroir and the suitable Mediterranean climate of the area where they come from.
Production:
Caminito comes from the best selection of their own black Grenache vines, grown organically on granite soils and harvested by hand.
The grapes are pneumatically pressed at low pressure. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, first in stainless steel vats, and halfway through fermentation, 50% is transferred to French oak barrels with battonnage. Aging in stainless steel and oak barrels with their fine lees for 6 months.
Tasting Notes:
It presents a bright, pale pink color. The nose is fresh and fruity, with notes of red fruits such as redcurrants and strawberries, which intermix with light floral notes. On the palate enters smooth, round, and unctuous, shows good acidity and a slight tannicity. Finishing with a pleasantly mineral and saline note.
