The first vintage for the new rosé wine by Clos Mogador, which is released with a very limited production of just 3600 bottles.

A high-quality rosé made from part of the grapes that were destined for the winery's great wines, Clos Mogador and Manyetes, but finally did not make it to the original blend. It is mainly a Grenache red grape-based wine; grapes are cultivated on the winery's biodynamically farmed estate in the DOQ Priorat.

Production: 

Fermented with indigenous yeasts in a blend of oak barrels and stainless steel vats.

The wine is matured for 12 months in a large used wood foudre and 6 months in stainless steel vats before bottling.

Tasting Notes: 

Pale salmon-pink colour. It exhibits remarkable complexity with aromas of red fruits, citrus, minerals, and spices. Unctuous, medium-bodied, and dry on the palate. It has good acidity, a distinct Mediterranean character, and flavours of red fruit with a saline background and a slightly bitter finish.

A wine that drinks very well right now but should also mature for a few years.

CELLER CLOS MOGADOR

Clos Mogador is located in Gratallops, in the heart of the Priorat hills. The winery was founded in 1989 by René Barbier.  The terraced Clos Mogador vineyards form a gigantic natural amphitheatre above the Siurana River, with an average altitude of 450 metres above sea level. His star wine is Clos Mogador, made from Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Carignan. The Grenache vines are over 80 years old.
