Lafou Els Amelers, a white wine created to expand the virtues of the white Grenache.
Production:
Left on its lees for 7 months, during this time 25% of the wine is aged for 3 months in 300-litre lightly toasted oak barrel, and afterwards it is returned to be vinified with the rest of the wine.
Tasting Notes:
Fresh aromas with lively sweet fruitiness and attractive floral notes, as well as citrus fruit aromas and a rounded nutty nose. Fresh and appealing, with a big ripe pear and apricot palate. Good acidity and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish.
Notes: Drink during the next 2–3 years.
Lafou Celler is the personal project that Ramón Roqueta started in 2007, setting his sights on Terra Alta, one of the most authentic wine-growing areas with a long history and great potential.
Ramón Roqueta is a young member of the well-known Roqueta family in Pla de Bages (Abadal Celler), who have been wine growers for a number of generations and from whom he has inherited not only all the enthusiasm, commitment, and passion for the wine but also all the respect for the earth and its fruits, which he now wants to transmit into his own personal project.
The Lafou Cellar is located in the village of Batea, right in the village’s main square. The vineyard is between 300 and 500 metres above sea level and consists of 60 ha north of the municipal district of Batea.
