Production:

Elaborated mainly with the native Grenache grape and a small input from the Macabeu grape, sourced from 20- to 40-year-old vines planted at an altitude of between 150 and 450 metres. Cold maceration for 4 days. Fermentation at a controlled temperature of 14–16 ºC in stainless steel tanks, cold stabilisation, light filtration, and soft fining before bottling.

Tasting Notes:

Attractive fruit flavours of peach, pear, and mango combined with attractive floral-herbal notes. Pleasant freshness and balance; soft texture; displays lovely fruit and floral character. It finishes with a lengthy, fruit-filled note.

Notes: It combines with all types of seafood, fish, chicken, paella, risotto, and salads.

The Winery

Founded in 1933 by five families from the village of Capçanes, they together established a cooperative that would handle large quantities of grapes economically and efficiently. The cooperative bears the name of the village where it is located: Capçanes, a village hidden away in the Priorat hills inland from Tarragona with a long wine-growing history.
In the 1990s, the company was reinvented as an independent company with its original members as shareholders; today, they have around 130 members and produce a wide selection of high-quality wines, including the well-known Peraj Ha’abib, a Kosher wine, under the Montsant appellation.
