Murmuri is the white wine of the Celler Mas Doix winery in Poboleda, made mainly from white Grenache. It is a singular wine, with an elegant, fresh and lively style.

The Grenache comes from 20-25-year-old vines planted on "Costers" (steep slopes) and terraces on "llicorella" soils from the Salanca and the Barranc de la Morera estates in the municipal district of Poboleda, the coolest area of Priorat. The vines here grow sheltered between the Montsant and Molló mountain ranges, where they benefit from the Mediterranean climate. The temperature fluctuations between day and night create the perfect conditions for the grapes to mature slowly and consequently for a later harvest.

Elaboration:

Manual harvesting with minimal intervention. Whole bunches are meticulously hand-sorted. The destemmed grapes go through a pneumatic press, and the must ferments in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged for three months on its lees in stainless steel vats; it does not see any oak.

Tasting Notes:

Very expressive, fresh and lively wine. Aromatic on the nose, it displays notes of white fruit, complemented by floral and herbaceous touches such as fennel. On the palate it shows an excellent freshness thanks to the pleasant acidity it exhibits along the way till the end. It exhibits all the personality, elegance and expressiveness that are characteristic of the region and vintage.
