El Senyor Cartoixà Vermell is the brisat white wine of Agricola Pallarades; it comes from the singular and ancestral variety Xarel.lo Vermell, locally grown in Tarragona, is a variety almost extinct.
The wines are part of the young project of Josep Armengol. A project born in "Cal Pallarades", an old winery dating back to 1908, located in Puigdelfí in Tarragona, that has been recovered and rehabilitated by Josep, the grandson of the original winery founder. Since 2020, Josep has been working to materialise this project, continuing with the farming work and the cultivation of the vines to produce his own wines.
The vines grow in calcareous soil, typical of the area and influenced by the Mediterranean Sea. The grapes are harvested by hand, with two different vinifications with their skins.
Tasting Notes:
Golden yellow in colour. The nose combines floral and white fruit aromas. The palate is vibrant and refreshing with a saline touch, good acidity and a subtle bitter finish.
Notes: Best enjoyed in youth over the next 1–2 years. Ideal as an aperitif, with salads, foie, and white fish.
