Since 1957, the Dopff family has maintained the heritage of thirteen generations dedicated to winemaking. It is currently one of the oldest family-owned wineries and one of the most important producers in Alsace.
The winery is located in the picturesque village of Riquewhir in Alsace, one of the most glorious villages in France. A complete mediaeval village full of 16th and 17th century architecture, it is home to Alsace's leading merchants and wine producers.
Its 70 hectares are located in a natural and privileged environment, with terraces over the Rhine valley and the Vosges hills protecting the vineyards from the wet, westerly winds.
The Gewurztraminer is made from hand-picked grapes from our own vineyards.
Tasting Note:
Bright pale with hints of gold colour. Rich and generous. It shows aromas of dried fruit, spices, and rose petals, with a fine balance and a rich spicy mouthfeel, with hints of lychees, grapefruit, and rose petals. Its spice flavour gives strength and elegance.
Notes: Potential ageing is 5 years minimum. Try it on its own or accompanying soft and strong cheeses and fresh fruit, and it is a great complement to spicy, Chinese, and exotic dishes.
