Elaborated from South Africa’s unique red grape variety, Pinotage. Sourced from their own vineyards, from four different selected sites located in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley appellation near Hermanus, Cape of Good Hope. Their 448-hectare farm enjoys a cool-maritime climate and is composed of stony, clay-rich soils.

Production:

Hand-harvested, fermented in steel tanks, and barrel-aged in French oak for 9 months, no new oak is used. The wines are named after the rare Southern right whales that frequent the cool South Atlantic Walker Bay.

For consuming now and over the next 5 years.

 

Tasting Notes:

Pinotage-driven flavours are characterised by cherry fruit, ripe berries, a slight earthiness with a touch of smokiness, and aromas of dark plum, mint, violets, subtle baking spices, cassis, and dark chocolate.
